History

The Not Dead

Rob is 23 and recently served with the British forces in Iraq. He saw and did things that have affected him deeply. He has nightmares and flashbacks and drinks heavily. Rob suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. So does Cliff, 78, who fought with the British army in Malaya in 1951. Eddie served with the UN peacekeeping forces in Bosnia and has attempted suicide several times. The Not Dead tells the stories of these three men. Each tells part of his story through his own experiences and through the war poetry written by Simon Armitage. Deep and moving, the film also has rare moments of humour.
