The day hospital of the Warsaw oncology clinic is always full of chatter. Talking seems to be part of the treatment, and a conversation with the neighbour in the next bed part of the prescribed medication. Men, women, old people and children swap home remedies while sharing worries and giving each other advice. They talk about their fears, their regrets, the lies they tell their families so they will suffer less. Ordinary moments are magnified in close-up: a smile, a tear, a hopeful look. For some, these will be their last conversations. For others, they will become the kindest memory of a time of hospitals and illness.
