USA vs Al-Arian is an exhaustive portrait of an Arab-American family accused of terrorism by the United States government. ‘Since 9/11, more than 6,000 people have been detained for terrorism in the United States. This is the story of the imprisonment, trial and conviction of the Palestinian-American Sami Al-Arian, a man who had been photographed with the highest American officials and political figures. It is the story of the injustice the Palestinian people suffer every day, which Al-Arian fought against. A drama that feeds a situation of global terrorism that seems unstoppable. The outcome could hardly be more disheartening: driving towards radicalisation the very people with whom understanding and peace might have been sought.’ M. Armengou
