A former Israeli soldier who took part in a revenge operation in which two Palestinian policemen were killed seeks forgiveness for what he did. His girlfriend, however, thinks it is not that simple and raises issues he is not yet ready to face. The soldier gives his testimony to camera of his own free will but does not want his identity revealed. In parallel, the director searches for the right solution to conceal the soldier’s identity while questioning his own political and artistic conduct. In this way Z32 centres on the insurmountable distance between the disturbing testimony of a soldier from an elite unit of the Israeli army and the artistic representation of that same testimony. The documentary tries to find an answer to the gap between merciless reality and its transmission in the form of a work of art.
