Michael Glawogger was born in Graz, Austria, in 1959. He studied at the San Francisco Art Institute and the Vienna Film Academy. He began his career as an assistant camera operator, then worked as a cinematographer and finally as a writer and director. He made numerous internationally renowned shorts, documentaries and feature films. His novel 69 Hotelzimmer was published posthumously. Michael Glawogger died in Monrovia, Liberia, in April 2014 while shooting Untitled. His untimely death interrupted his work on a number of projects and features with, among others, writers such as Sybille Berg, Eva Menasse, Michael Ostrowski and William T. Vollmann. Monika Willi is an Austrian film editor known for her regular collaborations with Michael Haneke, Michael Glawogger, Barbara Albert and Florian Flicker. She was nominated for the Austrian Film Award for Whores’ Glory, the German Film Award for The White Ribbon and the César for her work on Haneke’s Amour. Untitled is her debut as co-director.
