Ventrada

A man in an electric wheelchair, with his dog and an undernourished flock of sheep, crosses the Delta towards a horizon without limits. The overwhelming presence of nature turns the characters into mere figures caught in a vast, threatening space. A place where a man meets his most primitive inner self. Some of the newborn puppies have to be got rid of, but that is no easy task from a wheelchair. The puppies’ cries chill the bones, yet the man remains unmoved. A dark portrait of what may have been the world’s only paralysed shepherd. Life and death walk together in an inhospitable and disturbingly beautiful landscape.
