Sins of My Father

Sins of My Father tells the story of Pablo Escobar, the notorious head of the Medellín drug cartel in Colombia, through his son Sebastián and his widow, María Isabel Santos. In Nicolás Entel’s film, Sebastián looks back on an extraordinary childhood beside a father he loved even though he knew he was Colombia’s public enemy number one. He also speaks of times of great luxury and extravagance, set against times of persecution. Son and widow open the family’s doors to share hidden private archives.

But this is also the story of two of Escobar’s most prominent victims: the Minister of Justice and a politician about to be elected President of Colombia, only two examples among the hundreds of victims of the drug lord in the 1980s.

Now Sebastián is trying to break the cycle of revenge and seeks reconciliation with the children of his father’s victims.
