K2. Touching the Sky

In the summer of 1986, nine expeditions from all over the world met at the foot of K2 to climb the mountain by the hardest of all its ascent routes, one very few people had ever summited. Thirteen of the climbers lost their lives there. Ever since, the summer of 1986 on K2 has been known as “the black summer”.
The documentary brings together four of the children of those dead mountaineers and takes them back to the foot of K2, where their fathers or mothers are buried, to try to understand what drove them into so dangerous an expedition when they were only small children, and in one case even with a pregnant wife at home. As the adults they now are, all of them try to answer one question: what is the price of passion?
