Herencia

The discovery of four bodies buried on the director’s family estate in Salamanca opens a fissure between private memory and the silenced history of the Spanish Civil War. This discovery prompts a journey to reconstruct the lives of family members and neighbors affected by repression, reflecting on the origins of armed conflicts, intolerance, and their consequences.

Ricardo Íscar

Ricardo Íscar was born in Salamanca and lives in Barcelona, combining teaching with film directing. In 2016, he founded El Refugio Producciones.

His films include: Aire (2022), premiered at DocsBarcelona, Krakow International Film Festival, Ulsan, and Atlantidoc; Lo soñado y lo vivido. Diario del confinamiento (2021), screened at Atlantidoc and Iberodocs; La última feria (2016), awarded at Atlantidoc and Alcine; Al fosat (2012), Special Jury Prize at Málaga, mention at Dock of the Bay, nominated for Gaudí; Danza a los espíritus (2009), in competition at IFFR, BAFICI, Punto de Vista, and Vienna; Tierra negra (2004), Grand Prize at Ciutat de Lisboa; El cerco (2005), Best European Short at Berlinale and Kyiv, awarded at Málaga, Documenta Madrid, and San Roque; among others.
