El cuarto de los huesos

A bold look at the social violence of El Salvador. Mothers who have lost their children to the war between youth gangs search for their bodies at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, where unnamed corpses with no identifiable relatives pile up day after day. Over the last decade the number of people murdered runs into the tens of thousands. Salvadoran forensic anthropologists face a titanic task recovering human remains hidden in clandestine graves across the country. Most are young people, victims of various kinds of violence: gang attacks, disappearances during migration to the United States and, in the deepest graves, the bloody civil war of 1980 to 1992.
