Daniel’s World

Daniel is a 25-year-old student and writer. He’s the first member of the Czech pedophile community to speak openly about his illness. He has never abused a child and he’s considering undergoing chemical castration. He has accepted that he will never be able to have sex with someone who loves him. He decides to take responsibility in order to overcome his fears of sexual fantasies and desires that make him feel caged, and that are incomprehensible to society. A sensitive portrait of his daily struggle to live with himself, which brings us face to face with an uncomfortable reality.

Veronika Lišková

Veronika Lišková was born in Czech Republic in 1982. She graduated from cultural studies at Charles University, and screenwriting and dramaturgy at Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. She was the editor in chief of the Novy Prostor magazine – a popular Czech biweekly street paper sold by the homeless and low-income vendors. She has been cooperating with national Czech TV as a director and screenwriter of documentaries. Currently she works at Institute of Documentary Film in Prague as a head of documentary training for the filmmakers from the CEE region and focuses on her own artistic creations. Daniel’s World is her feature length debut.
