Call me Marianna

After 40 years living inside a man’s body, Marianna starts a new life as a woman. Her mother continues to call her “son”, her ex-wife doesn’t want to see her and her children reject her. Isolated from society, she’s still adamant to undergo an irreversible and final sex reassignment surgery. She must face her parents in order to move forward with the surgery. Her fear of losing her family means she’s totally aware of the sacrifices involved in living a full life. A moving homage to freedom, where hope and loneliness are mixed together in a story with unpredictable turns that makes us reflect on the real price of being oneself.
