Armadillo is a candid portrait of the addiction to adrenaline and the growing cynicism that take hold of soldiers when they go to war, told through the true story of two young men. Mads and Daniel are on their first tour in Helmand, Afghanistan. Their section is posted to Camp Armadillo, on the Helmand front line, where there are fierce clashes with the Taliban. Mads and Daniel travelled to the country to help the Afghans, but as the fighting hardens and operations become more complicated, they and their friends turn cynical and distance themselves from the Afghan people. Mistrust and paranoia leave them disillusioned and alienated. Armadillo is a journey into the mind of the soldier and a singular film about the myth of man and war, set in present-day Afghanistan.
