Restrepo chronicles the deployment of a platoon of brave American soldiers in the Korengal Valley, Afghanistan, considered one of the most dangerous places for the US army. Tim Hetherington and Sebastian Junger live alongside Second Platoon of the 503rd Infantry Regiment, sharing their duties and filming more than 150 hours of a daily life full of combat, frustration, routine, jokes, fear and courage. We experience their frustrations. We share their kindness. We hear the music they listen to and see the photographs of their children. But we also see the deterioration of relations with Afghan civilians.
