In the vein of El perro negro, this is a documentary that combines the exceptional discovery of old family footage with an edit that draws out everything those recordings exude: a private history told in parallel with the history of turbulent years. A story of eternal love between the first and only Austrian woman to be crowned Miss Universe and her cousin, who filmed her with a camera all his life. ‘My connection with history is the connection with the life of the past. My interest is in working with private history because it is an alternative to public history. The secret of life is not in political events.’ (Péter Forgács)
