Jaime Roldós’s brief presidency in Ecuador ended abruptly in 1981 in a suspicious plane crash. His tragic fate is the starting point of an intense account combining investigative journalism, film essay and personal drama. Setting out to question the heavy silence surrounding Roldós’s death, the film travels through Ecuador’s little-known history, the various theories about the crash, the story of his three orphaned children and the relentless role played by the official truth. The Ecuadorian cinema chain Supercines refused to release the film.
