Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 1956, Avi Mograbi studied philosophy and art. He worked as an assistant director on local and international commercials and feature films. A filmmaker and video artist, he has directed numerous films, among them How I Learned to Overcome My Fear and Love Arik Sharon (1997), August (2002) and Detail (2004), screened at the Berlin Film Festival, and Avenge But One of My Two Eyes (2005), screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
