Shot ten years after the closure of the Nazi concentration camps, this documentary short describes the life of the prisoners (hunger, medical “experiments”, executions, gas chambers, etc.), alternating archival footage with other clips that were filmed at the concentration camps of Auschwitz and Majdanek. Two Holocaust survivors, writer Jean Cayrol and composer Hanns Eisler, took part in the project, which is narrated by actor Michel Bouquet.
